Shimano Pro Rider and Accublade Impresses at Falls Creek Big Air.

Shimano Pro team rider Junji Kobayashi flew into Australia last week to compete in the Air & Style Big Air contest held at Falls Creek Victoria August 19. As expected Junji and the Accublade step-in system he rides left a lasting impression.

The contest was staged under lights in the village Bowl which is the heart of Falls Creeks entertainment area. After a record breaking number of entries 12 finalists from each discipline lined up for a 90 minute expression session in which 2 jumps were to be nominated for judging. Hundreds of spectators packed the bowl and they weren’t disappointed.

Junji Kobayashi was one of the stand outs in the Snowboard final with his countless years of experience, abundance of style and flawless technique placing him 5th overall. He was also given the title of best international rider and earned a great deal of respect from all competitors and Judges.

The Accublade Boot and Binding system was a huge talking point at the event with many competitors blown away by the high level of performance it provided. Junji rides the Tripper AB boots and XTR bindings and as he proved Accublade is fast becoming one of the most versatile boot and binding systems on the market.

Shimano Australia would like to thank Junji Kobayashi and Snowtech Designer Shuichi Hirayama for making the trip down under. The boys have now headed over to NZ for promotional photo shooting and 2007 product testing.
