| 1. How and when is it best to perform maintenance on my reel or rod? |
| After a day on the water your tackle needs to be cleaned. For most rods you can just use a dry cloth for cleaning or with sea fishing, flush your rod with lukewarm water before drying. Your reel should always be flushed with lukewarm (not hot!) water whether you've been fishing fresh- or seawater. Never use detergent because it will dissolve grease as well. Dry with a clean cloth afterwards. We advise you to have your reels checked after 12 months, as preventative maintenance can substantially extend its lifetime. |
